  Anyone read the latest Awake (on the supernatural)?

  just read some of this latest awake on the org's webshite.. it begins by talking about the 'supernatural' - wizards, witches, vampires, etc.

  - their popularity and why they might appeal to people.

  then it goes on to state the wt belief that someone is 'behind it'.. now, i like a few horror/scary films - when i was a kid, i always actually liked being a bit scared by them, tbh.. the silence of the lambs, a nightmare on elm street (1984), the ring, the witch, the thing (1982) and a few others are all great, imo.. they are just genres and subgenres of film, that's all.

  Come on guy's the best horror movie was the original Frankenstein movie in black and white. Scared the bee-gee-bers out of me when I was a kid back in the 1960's. Another good one was King Kong the 1929 version. You had to think and feel the fear. Of course the Borg thinks the Wizard of Oz is bad because it has witches in it. LOL. Still Totally ADD

  i can't remember where i first heard about this movie but it was recently.

  i guess they even showed it on tv.

  probably payed for like an infomercial.. anyway, i looked it up on youtube and viola!.

  Never heard of it. I am a born-in and I was 12 in 1966. But I was also raised in central IL a town called Tayorville. The only thing I remember from 1966 was star trek first came on TV. That TV show was more inspiring than any old movie the Borg could come up with. At lease star trek had a positive message. Still Totally ADD

  New to site...let me intro myself

  first, i've been out of the organization for 20 years this very year!

  i was baptized in 1979 and attended one of the lancaster ohio congregations.

  realizing i was gay, i left and after being in the columbus gay community for 6 months, decided bar hopping and cruising was not my cup o' tea.i decided to return in late '90 and was reinstated in '91.

  Welcome LarryCope to this forum. Since my wife and I left the borg we now have several gay friends. We have learned so much from them. Biggest thing we have learned is they are just people. One dear friend of ours lost her wife to be on x-max day. I had the privilege to give the memorial talk. There was over 100 in attendance. I gave a UU sermon saying a prayer at the end. I will never forget that day. Thank-you for sharing your experience with us. Take care and have a great day. Still Totally ADD

  ADHD Caused by Chemo

  i just found out yesterday that my son who is less than a year out of treatment for leukemia has adhd caused by the chemo that saved his life.

  does anyone here have any experience with this?

  primarily looking for books or resources that helped you or your loved ones..

  My avatar name tells the tale about me. I take 20 mg. of Ritalin every day. It has changed my life. Just ask my wife. I did not know I had ADD until I was 55 years old. I am now going on 63. Thom Hartman has several good books on this subject. Just google his name. What I have learned about this condition is people who have it are some of most creative people around and have a ability to multitask. Just some of the positive things about ADD. Good luck with your child. What a wonderful gift you have. Still Totally ADD

  i'm a 4th generation jw.

  i started to realize it wasn't the truth over 2 years ago in late october/early november 2014. i don't know how exactly it happened.

  i remember i had just heard about confirmation bias, and it hit me: i realized that i would be guilty of confirmation bias if i didn't look at the other side.

  What has been your own personal experience of shunning?

  i am interested in finding out on a small scale the extent of which shunning has impacted on you personally.. my own experience is that when i faded about 12 years ago.

  the woman whose house the book study was held at (and who was virtually a neighbour) walked right past me in my own street.

  i remember it so well.

  I dream about my two adult boys come to see my wife and I and they will not speak to us. I have this dream about two or three times a week. They both have missed a lot not talking to us. Mostly how happy we are not being in the cult any more and our hope they will escape it also. We truly raised them to well in the cult. I missed them alot. I hope they wake up before we grow to old and die. Still Totally ADD

  Today on National Geo. TV they was showing a male fish that mates with its counter part female fish until it dies. After death it dries up until only its sex organ is the only thing left. The female fish can still mate with this dried up sex organ as long as it wants. When my wife and I heard that we both laughed and asked ourselves what was god thinking when he created this fish. I guess the flood really missed up these fish sex life. LOL. Still Totally ADD

  as in today's study.... 18 to lie is to say something untruthful.

  (as in millions now living will never die, this generation will by no means pass away, allegations of pedophile abuse of children in congregations is apostate lies) however, jehovah wants his people to go beyond not telling outright lies.
